Linguakit keeps growing

Today we incorporates a new tool: the syntactic analyzer that emerged after many hardly weeks of work by USC’s ProLNat research group and Cilenis‘ team. It is a module specially intended for linguists and professionals in the computer industry.

What is the syntactic analyzer?

The syntactic analyzer is a linguistic instrument available for Galician, Portuguese, Spanish and English. It studies the dependence relationships between pairs of words in a text. It identifies the main term or core and the dependent term of each pair of words, it distinguishes the position that fill each of them within the sentence and also reports on the syntactic category of each term and the kind of relationship of dependency between the pairs.

How does this tool work?

The system uses, as input, the result of morphological tagging of each term in the text in order to then make a syntactic analysis (Parser) of the pairs of words through a set of dependency rules.

The information provided by the syntactic analyzer of Linguakit, become it a specialized tool, mainly intended for professionals of the Digital Humanities (DH). So, with the syntactic analyzer you can mix ICT with the disciplines of the humanities and social sciences.

Enter on and become an active user of this instrument and another linguistic tools. Get valuable information by optimizing your resources.
